• Our Challenges

Funding

The CES board of trustees officially applied to the ministry of education in February of 2014 for the endorsed establishment of a theological research facility and was approved to construct said facility on a 2-hectare plot of land in the Bade district of Taoyuan city.

The cost of construction stands at NTD 750 million (approximately USD 25 million), and the school includes the main learning center, a chapel, and a dormitory, amongst other facilities. The total area of construction is 18,600 square meters, with work scheduled to begin at the end of 2017 and to finish in June of 2019. This expansion will allow us to accommodate more students, nurture more leaders for future churches to serve the world Chinese Christian community.

Independence

On the other hand, according to Taiwanese educational regulations, the operation of a tertiary educational institution has to be primarily autonomous. Therefore, even after her acceptance as part of the Ministry of Education, CES remains as an individual entity.

In our application for recognition as part of the Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE), we clearly establish that the purpose of a seminary is to provide theological education with an emphasis in academic excellence, spiritual vitality, and active community service. Therefore, the prerequisites for acceptance, coursework, and graduation from CES will be based upon these three main criteria.

In response to the increase in demand for theological education and to accommodate more overseas Chinese Christians to study in CES.
